Payment Policy
Invoices are emailed on the 1st of each month and reflect lessons to occur that current month. We kindly ask that you pay by the 7th.
There are no lessons on major holidays.
You may stop lessons any time in which case we will refund you any money owed.
How does scheduling work?
We schedule standing appointments. That means that we reserve a permanent, specific block of time every week just for you. Your day and time won’t be given to another student. In return we ask that you come regularly to your lessons.
What if I miss a lesson?
We will refund any lessons we cancel. For lessons you cancel we offer one refunded lesson for the Spring and Fall term, and two refunded lessons over the Summer term. For any missed lessons beyond that we offer make-up lessons. If you choose to not make up the lessons, or if you simply cannot make them up due to schedule problems, lack of availability, forgetfulness, etc., we will charge for the missed lessons in order to retain your lesson day and time. Available days and times are available on the Make-Up Lesson Page. Make-ups are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, virtual or in-person. Although there may be some periodic openings in the regular schedule, its easiest to schedule on our designated make-up day, December 14. Make up days for the spring term are March 29 and May 31. If you will be missing lessons over a long period of time, please let us know so we can work out a sensible arrangement.
SPRING TERM: January - May
SUMMER TERM: June - August
FALL TERM: September - December
Why don’t you refund all missed lessons?
Reserving a block of time for your lessons means we are giving our time, whether you come or not. We recommend avoiding doctor appointments, sports practices, homework projects, etc. during your lesson time if you wish to maximize your tuition. We are happy to make exceptions for extenuating circumstances such as a death in the family or a broken arm.
What can I do to get the most out of piano lessons?
We love sharing the gift of music with you, and we can serve you best when you practice daily and come consistently to your lessons. Progress in piano is highly dependent on discipline, curiosity, setting long-term goals, expanding your horizons, and cultivating a love for great music.
Other than private lessons, what do you offer?
We belong to the IMTA, (Idaho Music Teachers Association), NFMC (National Federation of Music Clubs), and RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music). Through these organizations we enroll our students in festivals, competitions, evaluations, and special events. At our home we hold periodic studio classes free of charge in order to hone performance skills, gain understanding of various musical styles, and build a sense of community. We also hold recitals so students can have an outlet for their talent and hard work.
Thank you!
We are truly honored that you entrust your children's music education with us. We value you and your friendship!
Blessings,
~Adam, Anna, and Ashlyn Bendorf
